GOST 19792-2017 “Natural honey. Technical conditions”
From January 1, 2019, GOST 19792-2017 “Natural honey. Technical conditions”.
The standard applies to natural honey intended for direct consumption, sale through trade and public catering enterprises, for use in the food industry. It defines the requirements for organoleptic, physicochemical and safety indicators of honey, as well as packaging, labeling, testing methods, transportation and storage.
So, according to the accepted classification, honey can be honeydew, floral and mixed. Moreover, in addition to the species, its name may include the place of collection – field, meadow, mountain, as well as the name of the geographical area – Altai, Siberian, Far Eastern, etc.
The standard makes strict requirements to the organoleptic (taste, aroma, color, consistency) and physical and chemical characteristics of the product.
The current technical regulation “On food safety” does not allow the content of hormonal substances in honey, residues of antibiotics and other drugs used to treat bees. In addition, it is necessary to indicate the pesticides that were used in the collection of honey and the production of bee products.
