NATIONAL DISHES WITH HONEY

Welsh meat

Let’s cook Welsh meat as the main course. A good piece (a pound or less) of pork carbonade works best for him. In addition, we need:

ginger root;
2-3 sour apples;
1.5 tbsp. l. liquid honey;
half a lemon;
salt pepper.
Cut the meat into large pieces. Finely chop the ginger with a knife, mix with honey, rub the meat with the resulting composition. Put the pork in a baking dish, put apples cut into thin slices on top, fill with lemon juice, salt and pepper. We put in an oven heated to 180 ° C for 40-45 minutes, then take out the apples, and put the meat for another 10 minutes for a crust. Remove the peel from the apples, knead them with a fork, add the meat juice that forms at the bottom of the mold. Before serving, pour the resulting sauce over the pork.

Lassi

As a drink, we will serve a cooling drink from India – lassi. It contains honey and piquant spices. We need:

150 g of natural honey;
500 g homemade yogurt;
ice;
cardamom, saffron – a pinch or to taste.
Pour the yogurt into a large bowl, add honey, saffron and cardamom, beat with a blender. Put the ice in a glass, then pour the drink. Decorate the lassi with saffron sprigs before serving.

Cantucci

We’ll need dessert, and we can make cantucci – Italian macaroons with honey. For this recipe, take:

4 eggs;
150 g of honey;
1.5 stack. flour;
vanilla;
a pinch of salt;
1 tsp baking powder;
70 g of almonds.
Mix honey with flour, add baking powder and salt, mix everything thoroughly and make a notch in the middle of the bowl. Pour eggs with vanilla beaten with a blender into it. Mix everything well with your hands, then add almonds and repeat. The resulting dough should be sticky and smooth. Put parchment in a baking sheet, grease with butter. Roll small sausages from the dough (so that the mass does not stick to your hands, periodically moisten them in cold water), put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15 minutes at 180 ° C. Then we take it out, cut it into small pieces diagonally with a sharp knife and put it in the oven again for another 10 minutes to brown. The finished cookies should dry out, so put them on a towel and wait until they cool completely.
