REFRESHING DRINKS WITH HONEY

REFRESHING DRINKS WITH HONEY

In the heat, you constantly want to freshen up by drinking something cold. A summer drink with honey, prepared at home, may be the best solution for you, because it not only tastes good, but is also much healthier than store-bought lemonades with flavors and dyes. And there are a lot of options for such a drink, you just need to choose what you like best.

Iced tea with honey

Tea with ice and honey will perfectly save you from thirst in the heat. Just brew your favorite drink, wait until it cools down, add a few ice cubes, a spoonful of natural honey and a slice of lemon.

It will be even more useful to drink a vitamin drink made from medicinal herbs and berries (rose hips, thyme, mint, currant or strawberry leaves, raspberries). Even the most discerning sweet tooth will like this drink.

Drink with ginger, lemon and honey

A summer drink with honey can also be prepared from the classic combination of lemon and ginger.

Simply chop a few lemons (or juice them) into a large saucepan, add a chopped piece of ginger to taste, add water, bring to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes.

After cooling down, add natural honey to the drink – it will set off the bitter taste of ginger.

Such a drink is not only tasty – it has antioxidant properties, contains vitamins and normalizes metabolism. Instead of ginger, mint can be added to this summer drink with honey. You can use lemons with oranges, and after the lemonade boils, add a spoonful of cinnamon – the drink will acquire a thick aroma and a pleasant aftertaste. It is important to add honey at the very end, after the lemonade has completely cooled down.

Honey-based kvass

There are also many time-tested honey-based kvass recipes.

This drink is made at the rate of 200 g of natural honey per 3 liters. water. In addition, you will need a couple of lemons, 200 g seedless raisins, 3 tsp. yeast and 2 tbsp. l. rye flour.

Cut the lemons for a summer drink with honey into thin slices, mix with raisins. Boil water, cool, stir honey, flour and yeast in it, pour into lemons with honey. Pour into a container and, covered with gauze, put in a cool place; in a couple of days the lemons will float to the surface. Then the kvass must be filtered and again put in a dark place for several days, after which it can be cooled and drunk.
