Honey is a very common ingredient in dishes of different nations. The bee product is loved not only for its taste and benefits, but also for its versatility – it can easily replace sugar, and you can cook anything on its basis, from meat dishes to desserts.

Combining the flavor of meat with hot, sweet sauces is popular in Chinese cuisine, and honey is often used in marinades.

You can cook spicy chicken in honey and ginger sauce – it is good both as an appetizer and as a main course. We need:

  • chicken meat (fillet, wings, drumsticks) – 800 g;
  • small lemon juice;
  • 1 ginger root;
  • 50 g of liquid honey (better than lime);
  • garlic, vegetable oil, salt, pepper.

Peel the garlic, grind it in a mortar along with coarse salt, add lemon juice, grated ginger, pepper, pour honey. Rinse the chicken meat, dry it, pour over the marinade, mix well and put in a cool place for several hours. Do not forget to stir the meat periodically so that the marinade is evenly absorbed. Fry in a skillet over high heat, then simmer until tender over medium.

Lovers of the exotic will be delighted by the cold Arabic soup with honey and tomatoes. For him you will need:

  • 1 l. chicken broth;
  • 1 lemon;
  • medium bunch of parsley;
  • a large red onion;
  • 1 kg. ripe tomatoes;
  • 20 g of ginger;
  • 50 g of honey;
  • cinnamon, cumin, salt, black pepper, paprika, olive oil to taste.

Finely chop the onion and fry in a deep saucepan with grated ginger, cumin seeds and cinnamon. Add finely chopped tomatoes there (you can first rid them of seeds and peels), pour in the broth, add honey and chopped parsley. Bring to a boil and simmer until tender, stirring constantly. Then remove from heat, cool, add lemon juice. Serve cold with lemon or lime slices.

In the end, you can prepare a warming winter drink with honey for a large company. Let’s take for him:

  • 200 ml. punch and dry white wine;
  • 2 tbsp. l. honey;
  • 400 ml. apple juice;
  • spices (anise, cloves, nutmeg) – to taste.

Pour juice, gravy and wine into a large saucepan. Add honey and spices. Bring to a boil, leave to brew a little. Serve hot.
