ORIENTAL CUISINE WITH HONEY
Eastern cuisine is a rather abstract concept that unites dishes from Asian, Arab, Indian, Eastern and even Caucasian peoples. Condiments and spices are widely used in oriental cuisine – they are added to meat, cereals, sweets, cold and hot drinks. The basis for many dishes is meat and rice, for sweets – dried fruits, and it is customary to quench your thirst mainly with fermented milk drinks. In oriental cuisine, honey is readily used. Main courses and appetizers, desserts and drinks are prepared with it.
Homemade nougat recipe
The favorite delicacy of many – nougat with nuts – is easy to make at home.
- 300 g of sugar (better than powder);
- 3 tbsp. honey;
- the protein of 1 egg;
- 100 ml. water;
- 100 g of nuts (better than pistachios, but almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts are also suitable).
Dry the nuts in a pan, finely chop the large ones (you can also use ready-made fried nuts). Pour sugar into a container, add water, bring to a boil, reduce heat. Boil, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes, then pour in the honey and cook another 5. At the same time, beat the egg white until thickened. Pour in honey syrup, constantly stirring the mass. Then beat the mixture with a mixer again until it begins to thicken. Pour in the nuts, pour the mass into a specially prepared form and remove for several hours in a cold place.
Chicken fillet in soy sauce with honey
Delicious honey fillets in soy sauce can be served as a main course.
- 2 medium chicken breasts;
- 100 ml. soy sauce;
- 1 tsp rice vinegar;
- 1 tbsp. honey;
- 2 eggs;
- bread crumbs;
- a mixture of allspice, red pepper, hops-suneli, seasoning for frying meat – to taste;
- vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons + for frying.
Cut fillets from the breasts, beat off thinly. Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, honey, vinegar and peppers, mix well. Dip the chicken into this mixture, refrigerate (ideally overnight). Beat eggs in a shallow bowl with a fork, prepare breadcrumbs. First dip the meat in eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs and fry in vegetable oil until tender.
Sherbet drink recipe
The traditional oriental drink sherbet (not to be confused with the famous sweetness of sherbet) is made from a variety of fruits and berries with the addition of seasonings. You can also cook it with honey. We will take a sour lemon as a base to set off the taste of a bee treat.
- 1 lemon;
- 1 tbsp. coriander seeds;
- 1 pinch of saffron;
- 1 l. water;
- ¾ glass of sugar;
- 1 tbsp. honey.
Use a grater to remove the lemon zest; squeeze out the juice. Put water in a saucepan on fire, add sugar. When it boils, add saffron and coriander, add juice and lemon zest, honey. Boil for another 2 minutes, remove from heat and cool. Serve the sorbet cold with ice.
