Soloneshensky district is located in the southeastern part of Altai. The region is characterized by a favorable and mild climate, a variety from mountain-steppe to forest-steppe landscapes, flora and fauna. North and West are protected by ridges, rivers from which saturate soils and plants with the purest mountain waters. There are also many picturesque lakes, mineral springs, waterfalls in the Soloneshensky region. The highest part of the Baschelak ridge is occupied by a natural reserve of regional significance “Cascade of waterfalls on the Shinok River”.
The climate of this region is characterized by moderately cool and humid enough for the growth of a rich variety of melliferous medicinal plants, there are more than 260 species of them. Among them: Asian light, willows, yellow acacia, kandyk, dandelion, meadowsweet, wolf bast, strawberry, anemone, starodubka, lungwort, corydalis, etc.
